For the third time since 2013, the national meeting of OGNMB was held in the modern Ferry Porsche Congress Centre (FPCC) in Zell am See. Due to the great success in the recent years, the focus of the congress was on interdisciplinary sessions jointly organized by nuclear physicians, physicists, radiopharmacists and radiological technologists.
During two and a half days, researches shared their knowledge in over 39 talks about recent developments in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. A broad range of topics was covered at the conference, for example, theranostic approaches in prostate cancer. Furthermore, the OGNMB General Assembly made important decisions regarding future directions and organisation of the OGNMB.
The director of the LBI Applied Diagnostics, Prof. Dr. Markus Mitterhauser, was invited as chairman of the session entitled “Wozu” (“Why?”) and to give a presentation about the past, the present and the future of neurotracer development. People enjoyed social events such as the famous “Hüttenabend” in Leogang and used them for further networking. We were especially pleased to meet many representatives of our partner organisations including IASON GmbH, Hermes Medical Solutions and GE Health Care.
